How genetic and environmental factors contribute to autism?

I need help! I an oral presentation on autism next Thursday and I'm stuck on this specific subject. I have all the general things down (which Autism is, how it is diagnosed, symptoms, etc.) but I'm stuck on how genetic and environmental factors contribute to autism. If anyone out there can help me it would be great! It is especially useful if someone has children who are autistic. You about the experience. Thank you in advance!

It is my understanding that nobody knows what causes autism. You can try www.mayoclinic.com

What diagnosis would you give these symptoms?

I think my friend has a sort of mental disorder (eg type of autism) and I compiled a list of symptoms:-Awkward Movement / motor-Lack of understanding of personal space (stand too close!) Foot-in path, do not know until you're in front of him, looked intense for long periods-Can 't enter the subject of talk time for a long time (wait, who? ") interrupts conversations and phrases seem to impose N 'presence is picking on others' emotional signals (it why I thought one of the autism spectrum disorders)-Isn 't understand that people are more angry against him (eg, when he eats and we are very all looking at him) for a while we thought it was just because his parents a little drawn to teach him, but it's more like or her personality as it is just like that ..?

My brother has autism. I saw this video on youtube and I wish everyone could hear this guy sing the words in the song. They are real and really make you think about autism. Watch it, you'll have good ideas what he says. Http: / / www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSdfCN5ewHY&feature=channel_page

Symptoms, causes, treatments and other things about autism

Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder, it affects the way which a person communicates and relates to others. Children affected by this disorder have problems with understanding the reality, interact with people, places, events, sounds and lights, and they may also have problems with their imagination.
It is known that children with autism also have a limited range of interests, and about 75% of them may have mental retardation as well.

Symptoms of autism usually appear until the child is 3 years old, and finally his life. These symptoms can vary, they can sometimes be mild or very serious.
May identified difficulties with verbal communication, the inability to take part in a conversation, even when the child has the ability to speak, difficulty interacting with people and the surrounding reality, the lack of imagination, the inability to make friends and preference to play alone.
We can also mention the preoccupation with unusual objects or parts of objects, an unreasonable insistence on following routines in detail, difficulties with nonverbal communication and repetitive gestures or behavior (eg head banging, beating, spinning).
There is a form of autism called savantism, and those who are affected by this disease have exceptional skills in specific areas such as music, art, figures and are able to perform these skills without any practice.

A child could be suspected of autism, if he does not gesture, as point or wave, not babble or COO of 12 months of age, do not say a single word of 16 months or does not say two words phrases his own 24 months. Another sign of autism, a sign that can occur at any age is the loss of any language and social skills.

The cause of autism is not known, but there are possible factors that may lead to autism. Researchers believe that certain individuals may have a genetic predisposition to autism, it is possible that this condition being passed on to parents for children. It is possible that some children, environmental factors play a role.
There are also other theories that say that the antibodies produced by inappropriate the body's immune system can attack the brain of children, causing autism. It also said it is possible that children with autism have synchronization abnormal growth of their brain.

tick bite on a child …?

I have a 7 year old son and he has autism. It is completely non-verbal so that it can tell me if he knows any symptoms of Lyme disease. I do not know if it was a tick. I looked online and it seems like to check any other bug that I found. He seemed to be very small and attached to his arm. We do pet, but our backyard is heavily wooded. I do not know if I should call the doctor in the morning. I do not want to sound like an overprotective mother (I know I am!) Just curious what others would do … Thank you!

I myself am a parent of an autistic child. He is 6. My son has had numerous tick bites this year that we live in the country. Recently I did call the doctor cuz my son developed an unusual rash on his face that can also be a sign of a tick-related illness. While talking to her doctor said that although there is much in the news at the moment on ticks and the diseases they carry, it is actually difficult to contract a tick-related disease compared to what they tell you. She also gave me a sign of many symptoms that resemble the flu and would be visible if your child is nonverbal or not. unusually high fever and fatigue These are two main things seen. She also said that to check the child as they arrive from outside and even if the tick is attached and is carrying a disease your child is less likely to contract the disease if the tick is removed as soon as possible. Hope this helps you and gives you a bit more information is needed. I know it helped me.

A question about Autism …?

Then teaching an autistic child control his behavior in the early years of his life, help reduce the symptoms of the disease?

The best years to teach anyone coping skills and controlling the behavior is the first year. When it comes to autism in particular, early intervention can make a huge difference for future results … but it is not a cure. Depending on where a person falls on the spectrum, works to reduce behavior non-functional can be (and probably will) a learning process. In addition to cope with negative aspects of autism, the time spent encourage and nurture their strengths is equally important to future results and the happiness of the person with autism.

have questions about autism in children?

My 3 year old son may have autism, but also may have ADHD. be confused the two? symptoms to keep your eyes open for? advice will be appreciated! suggestions to cope?

Autism is also a short attention span but also treat other people incompassionately because they do not understand what it means to be compassionateto extentother children. They sometimes have a strange connection or just a strange way of talking so its difficult to understand is usually case. There assign some treatment options may have an impact on other key may have no effect at all depending on the child. I think taking him to a mental health sspecialist for a complete mental evaluation to see what it is …
