Autism Support for Parents – 7 Ways Parents can help their children with Autism Spectrum

Autism Supporting Parents

Helping your child has autism or is about autism spectrum is crucial if you want your child to live a life normal. However, it can be difficult and overwhelming to know what to do to help him. Here are seven things you can do:

1. Give your child as normal as possible. Although it can be difficult especially if you have other children who are not in the spectrum, it is important that your child does not feel too different.

2. Force your child to do things that you know they can do so even if he or she does not. This will help your child be more independent and develop.

3. Let your child participate in activities, tasks and other duties, although they could not do quite reason. This builds confidence. Autism Support parents

4. Avoid complaining or dwelling on things that your child may never be able to do so. Although it is difficult for you as a parent, it is even more difficult for the child to hear you complain or worry about their well-being.

5. Be prepared to change food habits and the whole family to benefit your child even if it is not practical.

6. Get your child to help and therapies they need. Even if it is a challenge of having to do all this and pay for them where there is a will there is a way and your child will be much more functional as an adult if you do for them everything is possible.

7. Be positive. The last thing your child and the rest of your family needs a relative negative. positive breeds positive and in the long run things will work far better if you're positive. Autism Supporting Parents

How genetic and environmental factors contribute to autism?

I need help! I an oral presentation on autism next Thursday and I'm stuck on this specific subject. I have all the general things down (which Autism is, how it is diagnosed, symptoms, etc.) but I'm stuck on how genetic and environmental factors contribute to autism. If anyone out there can help me it would be great! It is especially useful if someone has children who are autistic. You about the experience. Thank you in advance!

It is my understanding that nobody knows what causes autism. You can try www.mayoclinic.com

What is autism? Diagnosis of autism, signs, early intervention and treatment

Autism refers to a spectrum of disorders where the child has impaired social interaction skills, communication skills and demonstrates restricted and repetitive stereotyped behaviors such. Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects the ability of the child to understand what he / she sees, hears and senses which causes problems in social interaction, communication skills (and the use language) and unusual behavior and interests. Children with ASD do not follow the typical patterns of child development and behavior can vary from mild to severe.

Signs of Autism

Early identification of Autism ideal is that early intervention and treatment has been directly linked with better outcomes for children with autism. Babies are social beings. Since the beginning of life, they turn to familiar voices, look at their parents, smile and are comforted by hugs and touch. Many young children with autism have difficulty developing these skills and early forms of interaction in both sense.

The causes of autism are unclear but research supports a genetic component, then a break in the normal development brain. There may be multiple factors or causes that lead to autism and the search will find those answers. Twin and family studies have suggested an underlying genetic vulnerability to autism and other studies have shown that one of the causes of autism may be abnormal brain development from the first year of the child's life.

How autism diagnosed?

Ideally a diagnosis of autism team to assess and diagnose autism. The team should be composed clinicians specially trained in the diagnosis of autism and understand a pediatrician, clinical psychologist and speech therapist.

Can a doctor really produce results of a study linking vaccines to autism pediatric?

I read as a PhD Professor manufactured results of a study that linked childhood vaccines to increase the incidence of autism. Is this true? What exactly happened, and why some parents continue to insist on the prevention of vaccinations? Has been making more widely advertised?

The thing vaccine to autism is linked to the MMR vaccine and thimerosal. Dr Andrew Wakefield has made a report published in 1998 and published in The Lancet claiming that MMR causes autism has been found to have faked his reports and was paid for it by a lawyer and a board of legal aid. Dr Wakefield and some of his associates are currently face charges in court because of the false statement. The majority of children used in the study of signs of autism documented in medical records prior to receiving the MMR vaccine. Many associates have discredited Wakefield their report on the MMR, including The Lancet. Shortly after This report was made, Japan removed all MMR countries, but it is still March 2005, they noted that cases of autism continued to rise. Moving http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/health/article5683671.ece on thimerosal, a mercury additve was used in vaccines, PERSERVER (was never in the MMR). In the United States in 2001, thimerosal was removed from all vaccines except the flu vaccine cons (now you can get the vaccine against influenza with or without thimerosal), and all other vaccines containing thimerosal expired in 2003, but continues autism increase. Last year the United States, federal courts ruled that vaccines do not cause autism, if there was reasonable doubt, how could they make such a decision? Autism affects boys four times more than girls, whether vaccines cause autism why it affects boys four times more than girls, vaccines are not made and given in terms of your gender. I do not think one second my autistic son was caused by another vaccine, never has and never will be examined.

You can determine this condition of the age spectrum autism (ASD) can be correctly diagnosed

Although many children were slight delays in some areas of development, there are signs that parents can pick up their child reaches a certain age stage, as a means Property diagnose autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Some areas are closely monitoring the motor, speech, memory space and repetitive behaviors.

In the first year of development of a baby should be showing some activity, such as exploration and permanent with some support. There is some communication, usually simple words related to baby babble. A one year old usually interacts with others, like waving goodbye to capture something they want and other small gestures. Not all babies progress on schedule at the same time, but some early signs of autism begin to appear at the end of the first year. They include a lack of contact with eyes or a blank stare and watch, and some repetitive behaviors, like rocking heavily.

Autism is often diagnosed around the age two, because that is where most of the signs of the disease become widespread. The lack of eye contact and a lack of interest in other become more evident. Any words that the child has said are lost and there is no form of scoring or other means of communication for things they want. Other symptoms of autism do not have interest in creative play or pretend and walk on tiptoe. Unusual behaviors also begin to occur, such as explosions knocking and knocking heads repeatedly. There may be some difficulty to accept the toddler potty training.

There are situations where a child is progressing normally and then begins the signs of autism. By example, a child may suddenly stop talking or start having unusual or repetitive behaviors. Evidence of the characteristics of autism may begin occurring between the ages of 2 and 4. Meanwhile, progress in development is usually lost and the signs of autism become widespread.

Between ages 2 and 5, a number of signs of autism develop, which allow parents and doctors to better diagnose autism spectrum disorders. For example, the child has no interest in other children or people and becomes obsessed the place with some toys, games, or objects. They do not respond to vocabulary or language skills and they work best when there is an order or a set routine. When this routine is disrupted, the anger often develops. At this age, an autistic child begins developing sensitivity to sound, touch, and some textures. Due to the sensitivity of smell and taste, they develop habits to be choosy. Children with early signs of autism are also unable to hold a conversation, have a poor attention span and rarely contact with eyes.

Often, a child may show slight signs of autism become more frequent over the years pre-teens. Young adolescents with autism sometimes bursts out laughing for no reason, or fit of weeping without cause. These explosions are referred to self-stimulation.

Although there is no test for autism diagnosis, doctors rely on observation of the child, the history and development conversations with parents. With early diagnosis and intervention, the children show signs of autism can get the therapy and the treatment they need to ensure a better result as they grow to adulthood.

Any advice for a new teacher for children with autism?

I recently obtained a university degree and have take a job working in a local private school serving children with autism. I will work one-on-one with 3-4 children per day, teaching them a set of basic communication equipment / successful identification / social interaction more depth, specific areas. Does anyone have helpful advice on working in the field? I start Monday and will all be very new to me. Thank you! Just a little background: I'll go through a extensive training and will be shadowing a mentor from the first week of employment. The children range from toddlers all the way up to 18 years (school assistance to enter the professional fields)

My child is autistic and has had many / one staff to work with him over the years. He appeared to its best when the aid was calm, steadfast, patient and consistent.Consistency in the routine was very important, especially when starting a new aid. I suggest you read the book Grandena Temple Pictures. She think is autistic and his book explains much about how it feels to be autistic and how it deals with the world of sense, they ACCUTE have.Flouresent bright people look like cartoon characters from her, if she could not concentrate, so Be aware of the environment when working with children. It explains how the man wanted to touch the sandpaper. For my child, gets nervous when people are too close to him, so be aware of their space .. Some sounds can damage their ears.It is not always the loud noises, or, more pitch. So learn to listen to Envirnment things around you that you can not hear without paying attention.Smells can be overwhelming, so take too off on cologne or perfume. Most are visual learners. You could tell my son something a dozen times and it would not keep, but to show one or twice, and earned it.When he was quite young, we were taught their address, including zip code.He not remember the zip code until we done with the numbers clay. After that if he was asked his address, he can repeat exactly, but if you asked him where he lived, he said, a house.Thats their way of thinking! Another thing I suggest is, be careful, Childs behavior can be for reasons not obvious at first .. For example, one year, my math teacher told me son that she gave him a sheet of math problems and he threw himself on the ground very anger, which I thought was not able to calculate problems.Come To find out, she had changed its place of one he had served the last time in his class. In addition, if you ask a question, do not ask another until answers. If child it does not respond immediately, it may be asked what you prossessing, and could be upset at the interruption of its thought. Some staff were very hard to remember it because it often looks like he did not even hear you, to try to put the question it differently, and that upset him. WWW.autism.com is the website of the Autism Research Institute in San Diego, California. You find tons of information on autism, including studies on treatment and some parents effectively must learn about the different treatment and work with the doctor what can work for their child. To apply a certain treatment does not seem fair to me. Different things work for different children. We found vitamins, Nu-Thera with P5P laboratories Kirkman and DMG helped our child tremendously. Sorry for the course and on but a topic that touches my heart. I think you will find working with these children rewarding.

What are the characteristics of autism adult?

I recently heard a member of the family that my brother could have diagnosed with autism when we were much younger. (MOM never say something like that) What are the characteristics of autism adult?

http://www.asplanet.info pass under signs that this test is very sensitive and accurate. A woman average scores of 15, I scored a 42. Most the higher score to a spectrum of 32. Even if I give myself the benefit of the doubt, I continue to score a 40, and is responding through glasses colored pink. Here are a few: think outside the box, prefers own company, loves routine, eccentric, perfectionist, obsessive detail Mother refuses me and my brother is on the spectrum while being dx several times in childhood for both of us.
