Tips on a charity can swim?

Hello, I have been swimming in an indoor pool for some time doing a session 3k and now interested in doing my own charity swim to raise awareness about autism that I have an autistic son. The swim is a distance of 10 km from the beach at Aberavon Wales south in a straight line mumbles lighthouse, so it's a 10k swim directly out to sea. I wondered only if safe to do?? I plan on training about nine months before attempting the swim. All advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

First of all, I applaud your ambition, and I wish you all the best with it. Because you ask for subject to Y! A, I guess it will be a solo effort, rather than part of an organization endurance? And you do not know personally know someone who has already done this swim? If so, without wishing to dampen your enthusiasm, and the risk of stating the obvious, I trust you already realize that the 10 km swim in the cold, open water will be much more physically demanding than swimming 10 km in a warm, calm pool. wind and water conditions have a major effect. For such a small ship power as a swimmer man there no such thing as a "straight line" to the sea – you'll be thank you to the wind and currents of the majority of your swim, and it will take more time disproportionately (for example, if 10 km takes you 4 hours in the pool, it will probably 6 + hours at sea, which is a half-tidal cycle). Temperature is also a major issue. If you intend to train for nine months, you'd thought of doing this swim in that year from April to May next? There will be about 12 ° C, if you're lucky. I suggest you wait until later in the year, ie August-September, when the Time water will be higher – each level! Sorry I can not give you more specific advice, but here are some things to consider: 1. Train until you can do 15 miles with a band, or 50% more than your 2 linear distance. Wear thin "Farmer John combination of style, does not restrict arm movement. This will help keep you warm and give you some extra buoyancy. And do not forget your sunscreen. 3. You will need a boat – you know someone who could help this? 4. You'll need to familiarize yourself with the prevailing currents in the region, and if / how they change with the tides. The local coastguard are you more information on the specifics of your region. (In these disputes and health and anxious days of security, you can even get a permit for what you want to do, not to mention permission to land the person which is responsible for the lighthouse.) 5. It might be wiser to swim in the other direction (ie leading to the ground) – you certainly have a more big target to reach, so getting blown his way is not an issue. I wonder if there is such a veil or local diving club for you that could be able to help, both preparatory information, and on the big day?

Everyone knows about autism in young children?

Is KNO person of autism in children. My son thinks he doc is a little signs of autism. He is now 4 and juice begins to talk, but always in the range of about 1-3 years. It is sometimes hyper he doent return to phycis. Til June. Are there any good videos that could help him learn? He thpy speech. to pre-school and really hyperactive at home, sometimes I do wut KNO to do! Sometimes I cry I'm so tired of yelling at him and tell him to sit down cuz he knows wut it means.

Have him evaluated for autism by a qualified person (developmental pediatrician, psychiatrist, psychologist, neurologist, etc.) to your pediatrician can give you a reference. You can also contact your local school board for an evaluation that is no cost to you and to be able to receive early intervention services, but you would need a diagnosis from someone who is qualified as described above in order to receive treatment / services outside school. I'm leaving this link has wonderful resources to help you as the organizations / groups for parents of things for your son, as software you can free download and a variety of online / activities at home, a variety of games including games of speech activities help fine motor and gross – the development of cognitive functions, language skills of memory, and, and much more. I enumerate here, but Yahoo only allows 10 links and they have much more than that to offer you and you know which ones would be most useful to your son and yourself. http://graphicpieces.com/autresrce.html

Log in autism and feeding – the pieces, autism and Add

Autism and lactation

One of the most neglected connections for SIDS, autism and ADD may be common, the mattress every day that many parents unwittingly bring home to put in the cradle of their baby. The typical mattress is made from many materials and laced with chemical flame retardants to meet federal standards for baby products safe. This does not mean that any mattress baby is particularly safe for your baby. Some studies link childhood serious problems and even Death to the crib mattress toxicity.

mattress toxicity is related solely to fumes that Degas materials from which the product is manufactured. The materials and fabrics in many typical mattress include vinyl, polyester, acrylic, memory foam, and cotton. With exclusion cotton, much of the product is manufactured from synthetic materials that are made from petrochemicals. Even foam
memory, which is a favorite for adult mattress is made from synthetic materials and releases toxic fumes that degas over time. href = "http://autism-review.blogspot.com/?tid=articlebasebio"> autism and breastfeeding

Federal Regulations are also strict requirements for companies to include flame retardant materials that are manufactured with chemicals that will discourage the fire while the baby is asleep. While the purpose of this is to protect the child deaths by fire, these chemicals may inadvertently expose them to another health hazard. A child is so small and the respiratory response is not as strong as an adult, so imagine a child trying breathing in the fumes freshly manufactured materials laced with various chemicals. Besides the various research that points to the development of autism, SIDS and ADD in children who are exposed to toxic mattresses, it is the simple reason that the chemicals could lead to breathing major health problems in young children.

What should a parent do? The safest action to take is to buy mattress baby crib safety is not poisonous, but from natural sources. There are many crib mattresses available today which are made from cotton, wool and natural latex, and combinations of all natural materials. Of course, there are no chemicals fireproof involved since federal regulations for individuals to buy these items if the manufacturers to specify the contents and warnings. If you interested in avoiding toxicity Cot mattresses and the possible consequences of SIDS, autism, and add as well as other health problems, there are many online vendors that specialize in bedding non-toxic for children. Autism and Breastfeeding

Autism … Some advice for a child who acts violently when in large groups of students?

This same child, I spoke when I asked for advice about toilets. He only acts (pushing, punching and kicking) where about 15 + students around him. I have seen nothing to trigger this behavior other than the presence of other students. Eg When the take PE and told him to run the track, he began pushing the girls in front of him. Later, when a girl tried to hold her hand while they walked, it was agreed with her for about 10 minutes then he tried to pull down and the girl shouted "let go!". Ex. During lunch, while sitting by a girl he got the straw of her milk and threw it on her. All this without provocation. Ex During a school assembly while sat in the back row of about 200 students, he began slapping and shoving another child with autism. Once again, without provocation. Another help has been and talked to him, but when she brought him back he started again this other kid. He has great potential, I just need to get out of him.

I suggest reading the books of the author Ellen Notbohm: Ten Things Your Student with Autism wishes you know and Ten Things Every Child with autism Wishes You Knew. It helps to explain why it works, why it has certain behaviors, how to deal with IT, etc., they are both very informative and very useful.

Why are there many children with autism and today?

I heard all the families 50 days in the United States learn that their child has autism. And about 1 in 166 children are now on the autism spectrum. Mostly, the boys because girls have a hormone in the brains of some who dismisses autism. But seriously, everywhere I look, I see an eccentric looking male who is antisocial and is obsessed by the time either, Star Trek, etc.

It's like the outbreak of ADD, more people are looking for signs, so more children are diagnosed her. But also as ADD, they tend, as you said, to a wider range of children, with varying degrees of autism very little bloom. Years ago before autism was understood that property (which is really not understood much at all), they would probably only diagnose children with the disease itself rather than covering the label with children who have slightly so that most attributes. The reasoning of the most popular, which is what people use for reasons of the outbreak of the add is that most psychiatrists are more ready to make the diagnosis, and more parents are willing to accept that the disorder as a reason for the curious behavior of their children, but they may not necessarily suffer. Check out the DSM IV, I think there are a few of the line, it gives the symptoms necessary to diagnose all psychological disorders that are diagnosed today.

What type of special educational assistance does a person with Asperger syndrome need?

My sister is a freshman year of college, she hasn't been diagnosed with it yet, but there is a chance she may have Asperger's (which is like a mild form of autism) At present, shes not receive any kind of additional educational assistance, but should it be diagnosed, what types of special assistance she would be able to get? I think she needs because shes so smart, but his grades are average because it does not get personal assistance shes needed all his life in school. Thank you:) Shes been in the public schools all his life. The This is simply ignored his behavior and manners as a kind of whim or personality and character didn't think about it. Only recently we were thinking it might be something more than she should obtain a diagnosis, only to get sound using additional at school it deserves.

Do not put the cart before the horse. It is time to get a diagnosis. It is really too bad it did not happen in high school because now she would bring with her IEP. It must go to a neurologist or other physician which specializes in people diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, you can get an Asperger's scales on the Net to give you an idea of where she stands, but it must have a diagnosis. Each college or university that receives federal funds or state must have an office that deals with students with disabilities, once you have the diagnosis, it can take for this post. It would be helpful if the doctor would Some specific improvements it might need. Most people seem to have Asperger's a good language, but only on a flat surface. They do not include non-verbal clues conversation or deductions. Provide a visual of the whole concept learning can be useful for the student. Understanding of spoken language may also be a problem. It can miss things while trying to understand things that were said before. Copy Written Note class should be provided for her to review it later. It could also have a notetaker in class. Another problem is that often people with Asperger's tend to really focus on only one or two narrow interests. If this is the case, it may not have acquired the skills it needs in other areas. The provision of a tutor to keep her on track is useful. If your sister has problems with some subjects perseverating conversation and people think it is weird, your family can train her to become aware of when she does this. It can be taught to ask another personal questions and follow a topic of conversation. It should be high enough functioning to be able to do in college. You should be proud of her. I have a friend who is a professor of Asperger's and she had to learn to adapt to the teaching world. We tell her when she is on a tangent and it usually stops. However, she tends to say things repetitiously and it leads people nuts. But it is a good teacher and I love.
