My psychologist wants me to do a personality test, but do I?

I was in therapy for over a year now. My psychologist wants me to test to see if I could have some symptoms of borderline personality disorder or a mild form of autism. I was wondering, is there a difference for her if I really have a disorder? I mean, it will not change me, I'll still be the same person I was before. So why get tested? And if I have a disorder, it will hurt me in the lives of others? I mean to get a job and that? I do not know if it matters, but I'm a girl and I'm turning 17 in 3 weeks.

Absolutely take. Its easier for her to help you if it has all the facts. Esp if you were going for a year now … time to buckle down and see what actually happens. And no, cannot see what employers your "problems" would be if you had.
