Around what time can begin to cognitive impairments occur in babies?
My son was born two weeks ago and, as that doctors can tell he is doing well physically and physiologically. However, her father has a mild form of autism and I also had a history of mild cognitive dysfunction, including seizure disorders and behavioral health problems. Is there a point where we will be able observed symptoms through interaction with its environment? Or should we wait several years before a doctor can make any kind of diagnosis?
Your baby should achieve certain cognitive "milestones" monthly during its first year. Your doctor can give you information about what to expect, but unless there is a profound problem, most cognitive disorders tend to be noticeable about three months.
