Reported cases of autism appear to sweep the country like never before and autism is often seen on the news and special reports of television. Is there an ongoing epidemic or is that autism is currently to gain more visibility? Recent studies indicate that about 1 in 162 children with autism to some extent.
The hardest part about autism that it is difficult to diagnose. This is not like a broken arm, where you can take an x-ray and determine the arm is really yes broken. There is no known cause of autism, neither a known cure. It is mostly regarded as a neurological disorder and is not thought to be hereditary. Many people believe that there is a correlation between autism and mercury contamination. The mercury contamination dates back to the normal childhood immunizations to all children before they enter school. It is a conservative who has been used in some of these vaccines known as Thimerosal, which is nearly 50% mercury. While the dangers of mercury are well known, their relationship to autism is still a theory and is not supported at this point by any scientific evidence.
A more recent report states that scientists in New Jersey have said that children who have been diagnosed with autism appear unable to metabolize key fatty acids that fight inflammation of the brain damaging. This is an interesting finding, although not yet proven, because we know that autism tends to blur the signals going to the brain and cause it to be interpreted incorrectly. More studies are being conducted, but if this study can be validated, a virtual cure for autism could be as simple as a Cocktail therapy of fatty acids.
Like anything else, early diagnosis is a key ingredient to help your child find need to fight against autism and obtain the necessary assistance, especially for primary education, where special schools can provide the kind of environment necessary for the autistic child, while the normal public schools are not equipped to provide this type of head-to-one special treatment for a particular student.
