How many people in the UK have autism?

Indication recent studies is that the figures can not be precisely determined, but it seems that the prevalence rate of about 1 in 100 is a Best estimate a best estimate of prevalence among children. No prevalence study have already been performed on adults. I have this information from the National Autistic Society which is a good place to find lots of information about autism, 1 in 100 count each end spectrum of high functioning (Asperger syndrome) to severe.
