Autism Through Diet
Mothers of chidren with autism?
I recently started the gluten and casein free diet on my 1 / 2 year old son and now about 2 ½ weeks into it, his behavior worsened. It angers more, is hyperactive, irritable, and very aggressive (to himself and others). The only positive side effects that I have seen is that he sleeps through the night and his nose is no longer flows. (Two major problems before) We live in a very small town and the word "DAN" is not even recognized here. I am giving it two GummiVites vitamins anti-allergic per day, a variety of fruits, V8 Fusion, surprise harvest, GFCF Silk soy, nuts, snacks GFCF (breakfast bars, cereals, etc.), and do my best with meat (it does not touch the stuff!) Am I on track? Is this the behavior of a withdrawal or a bad diet?
You are doing the right thing to help your child. I agree with "momwhoknows. withdrawal is common and it is likely that short-term and a good sign. There may be yeast die and produce. Forget DAN bash-er, the DAN protocol is responsible for recovering thousands of children.
