Teaching social skills to autistic children – teach them to be a man or a woman
Education Social Skills for Autistic Children
One of the important things to learn is how to behave in front of the other sex. This is also an important skill for our children with autism learn. There are several techniques that seem to help with this area. Of course, the skills should be close to their age level.
One such technique is to obtain an autistic child to sit with peers of the same sex group. Then later, you or others can discuss how other group members acted towards the opposite sex. This will have to do repeatedly.
The number of times this situation could be repeated depends on the skill that must be learned. The length of time you have to create these situations and give an account also depends on whether bad behavior must be learned. Education Social Skills for Autistic Children
Skills can be taught through our child watching the same-sex parent. Politeness and manners of a man can have around other men and women can almost be different. Some autistic children need to see that the experience and that, though.
The girls do it naturally. They talk on the phone is how they will act around boys. They look girly shows include talk and act around boys. Thus they begin to learn to do themselves. Girls can be taught to dress this way and many other skills can be taught.
When my daughters autism are ready, we can apply some of these same techniques. Parents may have to intend to do that, but it can certainly be done. The planning part is done by parents typical girls.
These are just some ideas of what could work with autistic children when teaching them about the opposite sex. It may take all, all, or even several of these ideas to develop the skills everywhere. Education Social Skills for Autistic Children
