What is the risk of my child is autistic?
I'm young and not having a child so early, but the elder sister of my baby or 17 months. was just diagnosed with autism. My father was bi-polar and all my family has a history of all sorts of mental illnesses. My sister (with the autistic child) has problems with anxiety that we feel the rod out of my father's illness and many members of my family suffer from depression … My question is do I have a percent chance of my baby very high one day be autistic? What I panicked a bit .. I'm not prejudiced against people with autism, I want just enough for my children have to suffer through it.

Mental illness should not deter anyone from being a mother, except in severe cases. There are loads of mental illness in my family: mothers side: Grandmother – depression, Aunt-schizophrenic, schizoaffective mom dads side: three mentally, a Downs syndrome, an Alzheimer's dad: / dementia brain / schizoaffective I Two sisters, I have social phobia / separation, while the two sisters have no mental illness. Your chances are higher, but really, if you want to have children, I think you are safe, both of my sisters came out very well, as many of my aunts / uncles / cousins. Anyway Regardless, I do not know where you're good with the concerns, I personally am not having children, but its mainly because I do children not in the least. It is a very personal choice. With all the abuse and the horrible things I went through, I'm glad I was born. Good luck.
