Autism Rates Worldwide

The MMR controversy: Do you know the facts
There are a lot of controversy at present regarding the MMR vaccine, particularly the part thereof against measles. Many parents are nervous about allowing their children to have the MMR vaccination due primarily, I think, its link with autism.
Most people have an opinion relatively fixed, I found, but do not know what the actual evidence is they are believers. There is no shortage of information about MMR and autism, and it is easy to find on the Internet. However, there seems lot of junk science available, and those scientifically trained may be unable to separate the waste from the real thing. They therefore tend to believe what affects them most.
= = = = = = = THE START =
The whole debate began in 1998 when gastroenterologist Andrew Wakefield, association with others, said that the MMR vaccine might trigger autism. On the basis of only 12 children, most of the others who wrote The paper later retracted the findings. It is based on the possibility of measles virus, given the experience during the vaccine, causing enterocolitis (inflammation of the intestine) and releasing toxins that attack the brain, causing autism.
The parents panicked and vaccination rates fell dramatically Wakefield and cites data from California showed the number of cases of autism increased by 600% between 1980 and 1994. However, this also supports other evidence that autism rates are increasing: In fact they were up before the introduction of MMR in 1988. During the period when the proportion of the MMR vaccination has been relatively stable autism continued to increase, and continued to increase when the rate vaccination in the United Kingdom fell to 60%. This is poor evidence to suggest a link.
= = = = = = = PROBLEMS =
What studies of autism have failed to take into account are:
-
They are based on numbers and do not take population growth or changes in its composition into account.
-
The cases in the original study were returned to the researchers, and there were only 12 of them, and do not represent the population.
-
Diagnostic definitions of autism have changed over the years, and various studies have failed to take into account. Minor symptoms were diagnosed more and more like autism.
-
Children are now diagnosed at an earlier age and therefore the case should increase.
-
No account has been taken into account the increase of environmental pollution by chemicals and fumes.
A large study in Finland involving 1.8 million people who received 3 million doses of MMR vaccine over 14 years, found that some reactions. She did not, however, take into account cases of background of autism normally expected of the general population. Nevertheless, it provides good evidence that the link is tenuous.
A recent analysis in UK supports this with an ever increasing rate of autism against a sustained use of MMR vaccine. Thus, autism is rising despite MMR remains stable.
A study in Denmark, often cited, showed an increase in autism in children who have had the MMR vaccine. However, what has been used both by governments and other researchers, either refute or prove the link. I have not seen the evidence, but it must be distorted if can be used by both parties.
A recent study in Japan, which withdrew the MMR vaccine in 1993 for other reasons have shown that in most 31,000 children born in one district of Yokohama between 1988 and 1996, cases of children diagnosed with autism at age 7 has continued to increase from 48 to 86 10,000 before the withdrawal MMR 97,161 by 10,000 after the withdrawal. This is equivalent to:
-
A 56% increase in autism before the withdrawal of MMR vaccine
-
A 60% increase in autism after the withdrawal of MMR vaccine
Remember, all children in the test were examined Yokohama until they were 7 years old, so age was not a factor.
This is the first study on what happens after the MMR vaccine was withdrawn and he suggested that the rate of autism and the vaccine are not connected.

The Lancet has recently admitted that the original document Wakefield have never been published if she had known certain facts. It has been denounced by a 4 channel and The Sunday Times investigation Andrew Wakefield was paid to perform other Studies by a group involved in a lawsuit against the manufacturers of several billion MMR vaccine. Wakefield has been supported this request in the wings.
The survey also claims that there were a number of patents to him and the London Free Hospital for individual treatments in question, which were to the load on the reputation of MMR has been damaged and parents opting for single vaccines. There was also an unpublished study from the laboratory Wakefield, who has shown his theories wrong. The original study seems fatally damaged by these revelations, and Dr Wakefield did not yet made the leap to try to pursue Brian Deer who conducted the survey.
The main problem with the MMR vaccine seems to be part of measles. If this is the case why a single measles vaccine is better than the MMR vaccine? This in itself has not been well explained, and patents seem vaccine Wakefield say something funny was going on.
The General Medical Council recently announced it is investigating the conduct of Dr Wakefield.
There are two camps, and few between. Parents are caught between the two sets of information. Unfortunately, there are a lot of politics involved in the two camps. The camp pro-talk connection litigation and class action and anti-camp connection, of course, try to defend themselves against it and governments are increasingly worried. The real scientists are more worried that we can regress to pre-1960 situation before any vaccine against measles was available, and millions died diseases each year.
The potential legal situation begins to affect the figures. Review of case files showed that the child given the history by some parents changed after the publicity. Before the publicity the parents said they were concerned about their children at an age early, usually before reaching one year. The current history for the same children now have symptoms of these children does occur after MMR vaccination. It is certain that the damage to future studies that are still accused by both parties to be restrained or biased one way or the other depending on which side of the case you may be.
= = = = = = = The Future =
There is now too much media interest and bias that now seems to have vitiated the first study will continue to be the main topic of discussion, rather than whether or not there really a link, and this is potentially damaging to children. Children are damaged: they are either received a vaccine that promotes autism or they are denied a vaccine needed to prevent termination three serious diseases
There is of paramount importance that the truth comes out, if there are financial consequences or not. Both parties should be forced to meet to arrive at a conclusion that helps parents, not lawyers or corporations or governments.
In the UK alone the adoption of MMR reduced dramatically and the children began dying of measles again. Once the current young girls grow up, they will be almost certain to have problems with fetal abnormalities, unless they make sure they are immunized against rubella before puberty. This is especially true today, with as many teenage births. The problem is that today's parents never saw the day before vaccination, where deaths from measles were common, when an abnormal infant was common and young men feared the mumps.
Parents who refuse the MMR vaccine should ensure that their child is vaccinated against these diseases with separate vaccines. They should not send their children to measles. Mumps and German measles (rubella) parts are OK, because these diseases are not dangerous until puberty. Measles is one of the other fatal disease, especially dangerous in young children. Among deaths from measles in World 400,000 25% are children under 1 year. Nearly 80% of deaths from measles are pneumonia: Measles is a respiratory illness.
My belief is that the MMR vaccine is not a specific problem. If there is a problem, it lies in the measles virus, as it is which is claimed by Dr Wakefield to cause enterocolitis. The single vaccine against measles will have the same problem. In my opinion, the choice is not between the MMR vaccine and the only, but between the two vaccines and autism posssible, or no vaccine and measles and possible death (and autism), not to mention all the side effects such as bad hearing problems, meningitis and brain damage.

So what is your opinion? Do you think that the MMR vaccine causes autism? Would you let your child have the vaccine MMR at the appropriate time (13 to 15 months in general)?
