Does anyone have ideas on the moderation of a year 7 years with autism and ADHD?

My son has been diagnosed with autism and ADHD. The more he ages, it becomes more impulsive and hyperactive. It is often difficult to deal with him, especially in public, because of his behavior. He received occupational therapy once a week at school, and will also receive an extra hour of OT outside soon. It is not currently on medication, such as neurologists told me that many drugs that work for ADHD have adverse effects children with autism. Plus I'm nervous about the effects they have on him. We tried Focalin for a while, which was no advantage and even seemed to make more aggressive. It is also a gluten free casein free diet. Any suggestions would be appreciated information.

Here is some ideas of a parent of two children with autism and ADHD. As your child acts in public, children with ADHD and autism often very, very short attention span and tend to have sensory overload. When going out in public there something like a blanket as it can carry a measure of comfort? You can try to take the business along to do (drawing, books, etc..) Avoid the blocks, they lead children with autism ADHD and a wall! Your child may very well need medication. Ask your doctor about a drug cocktail. My son takes Risperdal and Luvox all days. We can tell when he misses a dose? He further aggressive acts out, is difficult to reorient. May I suggest that parents get on a sort anti-depression medication. Having a child has special needs can be very painful! If you need further help, please request. We can arrange a way to chat.
