My son is almost 3 and has autism, he can not communicate yet.?
My son is autistic, so when we go to new places, he wants to cry and be upset, if someone out there who has experienced this problem, does it improve? What do you do not disturb him? like when he gets a haircut, go shopping, take a walk in a different way? he pulls his hand for communication, as he can not talk, we made a book of photographs of places and will soon be Pecs, will this help?
You really have to see and find what makes it comfortable and what's the worry and work around it. Find a way to calm him. Children with autism may be very different, each time that works for does not work for another. I worked with autistic children 10 years and I loved it, but they were all very different and I had to relearn every time I had a new child in my care. They are so specific and at times they are "There and consciousness" and find a way to communicate, it is so great and extraordinary. Most do not like haircuts or property and can be very picky about this if most parents I know make themselves at home for music and the quiet, so I know parents who take their MP3 players for kids to listen to while shopping or walking. Some autistic children never really talk while others may take a large vocabulary. There are actually two families I know here in Ohio who have more than 2 children (we were 3 and 5) who are all autistic. At 3 years, but I guess he just got a diagnosis.
