Autism Education

What special education as in your state? Autism in particular.?
In California, Special Ed is decent, until you're ready to go to the mat on it. A person with a diagnosis of autism is entitled to services through centers regional. What other programs, like the United States? DH is planning to apply for jobs out of state, but so far seems CA whatsoever for autism education. Thank you for all the replies so far. In CA, the regional centers are more administrative centers to help navigate the benefits. They evaluate children, help with some activities such as social therapy, participate in IEP with you, you know laws and programs and provide transition services when the child grows. My son is currently in a special class the day with 12 students and incorporates language arts, computer lab, math lab, recess, assemblies and lunch with a class of third year. It is the grade level in math, a little behind in reading and makes changes in routine well.
It really varies from state to state your age child. We live in Michigan and has an autistic son yro 3.5. He received early intervention services and now handles special needs age preschool four days a week. Both are funded by the state. state next year, it will be toddlers who attend a school inclusive, also financed. University of Michigan has excellent doctors and therapists as well. I have friends with autistic children to Chicago and Maryland as well. They themselves also superior service (better than Michigan)! As I said previously, it depends on the state and city as well. Children with autism more per capita, the best service (I think). Best wishes!
