Children with autism qualify for Disabled Persons (financial) in Texas?

My friend has a son two years breakfast can be autism. This family is a below average income. I do not live in Texas and am looking for some help with what would be available. I Thanks for any help in this matter. The region where they live are being Lake Jackson, TX. Thank you.
