Is there any treatment or medication to cure autism? What about stem cells or genetic engineering?

There research in place? What new techniques such as steam cells, new drugs, genetic engineering? What alternative medicine?

One wonders what is wrong with so many children are diagnosed with the disease lately. No cure, just one treatment over the years and ongoing support in adulthood.
