Does anyone know where I can find the history of autism in the public school system in America?

I a word to express what concerns the history of autism in public schools. I found a lot of information on disabilities in general (IDEA 1997, ect) but I really need information specific to autism. I'm looking for the first documented cases of school districts to allow students with autism, students' names if they are available. If someone can recommend a site or a book, I appreciate lot!
