I'm going on an interview with a behavior interventionist with children with autism in schools?
What should I know? If you do this as What career advice Would you give me? I do not know much about autism, I am doing research right now … What can you tell me that the custom Internet?? Is thank you in advance for all your help! I know general information about autism, but what I wanted to say is do not training, and I do not know much about autism. spedusource Thanks, but the list does not say the experience required and they train. I am a student speech therapy, I am sure this will work in collaboration with someone else (maybe I gave the lesson plan and I am trained to execute)
Spedusource gave you good information. I think if you are trained in speech therapy, which could be where you can better assist school-age children with autism. Many autistic children have limited verbal language and needs a lot of support from a speech. Some techniques that help children with autism to communicate is to use sign language to simple commands (words like "more", "All done, "" stop "," Help, please ", etc.) or to use images. the company Mayer-Johnson California has an excellent software: Board Maker and writing with symbols are two programs I used in my work. The programs have images simple to describe the words and activities, and these images can be presented to children with autism in a calendar form, or during therapy trial efficient and discreet. Each autistic child is completely different from each other. They may have similar problems, but each child must be addressed respectively. I found that I can help a child Autism better once I spent some time getting to know them.
