Ribbon Pins Show support for important causes
By Caryn Smith
Colors send distinct messages. Unconsciously, we been trained to respond to a variety of ways to practically all the colors of the rainbow. For example, the green is almost always associated to "go" (green lights), the arrival of spring and the coolness and confidence. Orange, according to psychologists of color, refers to the energy and enthusiasm. This is probably why the champions of causes chose to use colored ribbons when supporting their beliefs.
As Already in 1917, singer / songwriter George Norton wrote the song, "around her neck she wears a yellow ribbon." A revised version was used later in the movie "She wore a yellow ribbon." The words tell the story of a young girl awaiting the return of his love who served in the army. In 1979, yellow ribbons have seen the resurgence of Penne Laingen tied this symbol around her tree when her husband, U.S. diplomat Bruce Laingen, was held in captivity during the hostage crisis in Iran.
But yellow is not the only symbol of hope. What is the first thought that comes to mind when you see a pink ribbon? Breast cancer. In 1992, the hands of self magazine editor Alexandra Penney and cosmetic giant Estee Lauder, the symbol of ribbon was adopted as the icon of the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign. The color pink was chosen and the new emblem was quickly adopted by the American public.
There are others too … many others. Red was chosen as the tape Color AIDS awareness, because it represents passion. Yellow was chosen for military support, because it is the official color of the Calvary United States.
Ribbons and Pins
Although many people actually buy and pieces of ribbon to pin to their lapels, others has chosen a more convenient method. Although the fabric tapes wear out quickly, purchasing custom lapel ribbon gives you a permanent part jewelry to wear on several occasions. option you choose, wearing ribbons awareness will show your support for good causes immense.
