Application of acupuncture and herbal remedies in cases of autism or autism spectrum disorders
Autism is a severe disorder neurological development begins at birth or within the first two years and a half years of life. 12 It is a disorder Spectrum (Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD), which means that it affects people differently. Some children can speak, while others may have little or no speech have 13. Most autistic children are perfectly normal in appearance, but spend their time in strange and disturbing behavior which are significantly different from those of typical children. Less severe cases can be diagnosed with pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) or with the syndrome Asperger's (these children typically have normal speech, but they have many "autistic" and behaviors, social problems) 12.
Its cause is still a mystery, neurological studies suggest a dysfunction of the brain. 01 The basis of the disease can be neurochemicals, neurotransmitters, neurobiological (genetic basis), neuropsychological and neurophysiological (dysfunction of information processing complex). 02
In patients with autism ASD / transmission pulses / signals (information processing) between nerve cells in the brain can not process correctly or neurons (nerve cells) can not establish their precise coordination between other accordingly to connect neurons circuit through its rich network of neurons. Therefore, for this reason autism / ASD children suffering from various problems develop.
Autism / ASD is characterized by deficits in language, social communication, or imaginative symbolic play, 03 Cognition and little or no contact.Children eyes with autism / ASD usually have secondary problems such as aggressive behavior, irritability, stereotypies, hyperactivity, negativism, volatile emotions, temper tantrums, short attention and obsessive-compulsive behavior. 02
But the good news is that there is now a wide variety of treatment options that can be very useful. Some treatments can lead to great improvement. Now, autism is treatable. 04 In such conditions, with acupuncture therapy Herbal is very effective. Excellent results are achieved through the simultaneous application of acupuncture and herbal medicine in of ASD / autism and cerebral palsy in different countries.
There are several research papers, articles etc. that has been published worldwide about the effectiveness of acupuncture and herbs. Some mentionable quotes / statements, quoted these material promoting the effectiveness of these treatment methods.
About acupuncture therapy:
01. "The use of acupuncture in neurological disorders and development has been more recent a great extent. The World Health Organization (WHO) has reviewed and scalp acupuncture normalized (to treat neurological and developmental problems) in 1984. In 1988, WHO issued the first standard brochure on the scalp acupuncture. 05 "
02. "Cognitive (Better speech, memory and calculation stimuli) performance achieved by the latter group was due to the effect added acupuncture sessions, which increased the speed of blood flow to the brain. 03 "
"The majority had a functional improvement of varying degrees, depending on age and severity of their disability. Improvements were seen in a few sessions of acupuncture. 03 "
03. "Acupuncture points on the scalp and body have been found effective in treating children with brain dysfunction, resulting in an overall improvement in patient functional capacity. 02 "
"In a revolutionary new treatment, our research team has demonstrated for the first time in a clinical trial how acupuncture can improve with successfully dysfunction related to autism, by activating vital connections in the brain. We hypothesize that repetitive stimulation Specific acupuncture points can reconnect the neural circuit through its rich network of neurons in the cerebellum. improvement can lead by resignaling neural circuits via neurotransmitters such as serotonin / 5-HT, dopamine and neurochemicals such as cortisol. This reconnection cerebellar circuits, frontotemporal pathways can reverse basic dysfunction in autism, including attention, emotion, or hyperactivity, and open a road for the positive cognitive or communication skills. 02 "
04. "Many studies around the world for humans and animals have shown that scalp acupuncture is very effective in the treatment of neurological and development in children. Research shows that levels of certain hormones in the body and blood flow brain increases with this type of treatment. 06 "
05. "In this study, researchers have used acupuncture body for a longer period than this study. Concluding that there was significant improvement of the floor 12 of the study (13) CP subjects. 07 "
On therapy Herbal:
01) "Herb Bacopa has been used in several cases of autism with positive effects 08"
02) "Two chemicals in Bacopa Herb bacosides A and B, improve the transmission of impulses between nerve cells in the brain. These bacosides regenerate synapses and repair damaged neurons, making it easier to learn and remember new things. Bacopa also increases the level of serotonin, a brain chemical known to promote relaxation. The grass on the ability to stimulate brain function While anxiety reduction may explain why it helps treat ADHD, ASD. "There was an improvement significantly in verbal learning, memory consolidation, information processing early 09 "
03) "Herbs Gingo bilobaimproves blood supply to the brain and also increases the speed at which information transmitted to nerve cells. 10 "
04) "The reconstruction of networks neurons in the damaged brain is necessary for the therapeutic treatment of degenerative neurological diseases of development. Ginseng Herb showed powerful the regeneration of axons and synapses, and enhancement of memory impairment. Has also shown the extension neurite in normal and damaged cortical neurons. Trigonelline, a constituent of coffee beans demonstrated the regeneration of axons and dendrites, in addition to improving memory 11. "
