can gluten in the diet causes speech delay?
I have a son now 22 months. he hasn't had time to talk yet. I mean even not a word. so naturally I was worried. I took him to his PED. She put him in observation for a long time .. watched him play and all .. then said it is not autism. .. or any other disorder such as PDD-NOS or Asperger syndrome, or apraxia. Then she asked me to change his diet food. She told me to stop all kinds of wheat products as they move to gluten and other substitutes. my only question is Has that ever known such things to their children. A .. perfectly normal child with a speech delay which was caused by diet?? there is very vocal .. did all sorts of noises and sounds .. its just hasn't turned into a word more. its understamding also .. Very good but not 100%. if ever someone had a problem like this or if the power switching Kid anyones helped start talking pls let me know. Thank you in advance.
I feel like we are in the same situation! My daughter is 21 months and she said only a handful of words understood (Hi, Dad, uh-oh and a few others), but everything she says is gibberish. She talks a lot, and sounds of the letters are great, I just wish I could understand. I am increasingly worried and frustrated As time passes, because it is not English. But just like your son, it includes a ton and is solid on any other measure of development. I not heard of gluten-free diet to help speech, but I try to give a varied diet (she is kind of picky, so I try to only offer healthy foods). I am waiting until his visit two years old baby well talk to their doctor about the speech. Good luck!
